7     <div wrap>Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth
8     on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and
9     dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
10     Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing
11     whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so
12     dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-
13     field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of
14     that field as a final resting-place for those who here gave
15     their lives that this nation might live. It is altogether
16     fitting and proper that we should do this.
17     But, in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate...we cannot
18     consecrate...we cannot hallow...this ground. The brave men,
19     living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it
20     far above our poor power to add or detract. The world
21     will little note nor long remember what we say here, but
22     it can never forget what they did here. It is for us, the
23     living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished
24     work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly
25     advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the
26     great task remaining before us...that from these honored
27     dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which
28     they gave the last full measure of devotion; that we here
29     highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain;
30     that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of
31     freedom; and that government of the people, by the people,
32     for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
